MACHIAS — A 53-year-old Machias man was charged Monday with aggravated driving while intoxicated and unlawful possession of marijuana.
According to New York State Police, William J. McMahon was stopped by police shortly before midnight for driving across hazard markings. While Troopers were interviewing him, he was determined to be intoxicated. Subsequently, a bag containing marijuana and a marijuana pipe was located on McMahon. He was taken to SP Machias for processing, where he was found to have a .18 percent blood alcohol content.
McMahon was issued tickets returnable to Town of Machias Court later this month.
