Motorcyclist taken to ECMC after collision

AMHERST — A 29-year-old Amherst man was taken to ECMC following a collision on Millersport Highway on Monday.

According to the Amherst Police Department, Andrew J. Kopec was driving a 2013 Kawasaki motorcycle when it collided with a 2014 Nissan passenger car around 1:45 p.m.

Kopec was northbound on Millersport just south of Campbell Boulevard. The Nissan, which was driven by 45-year-old Heidy Huan Han Getzville, was making a left turn from Stahl Road to go south on Millersport.

Kopec was transported by Twin City Ambulance to the Erie County Medical Center with arm, hip and leg injuries.

The incident remains under investigation.
