The Albright-Knox Art Gallery presents the 20th Annual “Art Alive” contest from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday.

Per the AK website, “Participants build their stunning replicas—often called tableaux—using people, props, and even music.” More than $1000 in cash prizes will go to the winning tableaux, while multiple awards in all categories (Grades K–8, Grades 9–12, and Adult/Family/Group) will be given, as well.

The public is invited to participate and appreciate the creativity of the works, and are asked to cast their votes for the People’s Choice Award. There will be live music, art activities and more, with admission to the Gallery free on the day of the event thanks to the generous funding provided by presenting sponsor New Era Cap

Art Alive also presents the final opportunity to join with Faces of Buffalo to create the Community Art Mosaic.

“Participate by submitting a colorful drawing of your face on the official drawing form, available at the Faces of Buffalo website, at M&T FIRST FRIDAYS @ THE GALLERY on June 3, and at Art Alive on June 4. Official drawing forms should be returned to: Albright-Knox Art Gallery, Attn: Education Department, 1285 Elmwood Avenue, Buffalo, NY 14222; dropped off at the Admissions Desk by June 4; or brought to Art Alive on June 4.”
