BELMONT — New York State Police are investigating a fatal three-car collision that happened Tuesday on State Route 19 — Greenwich Street in the village.
According to NYSP, A 2010 Subaru Forester operated by Eric H. Hanson 62, of Leroy, was traveling south while a 2004 Subaru Outback was northbound. Hanson entered the northbound lane, sideswiping the 2004 Outback and continued south crossing the center line and striking a 2000 Ford F350 head on.
Hanson was taken from the scene by Mercy Flight to Jones Memorial Hospital and was later pronounced deceased.
The operator of the 2004 Subaru, Michael R. Hall of Whitesville, was uninjured. The operator of the 2000 Ford F350, Tylor Glover, of Angelica, sustained minor lacerations.
NYSP Collision Reconstruction Unit was on scene to investigate. This collision is still under investigation.
