BUFFALO — A Memorial Day tradition continues to build at Canalside this weekend with Boardwalk Carnival 2016.
From today through Monday, Hammerl Entertainment puts on the carnival with 16 rides. Ride-all-day wristbands are available each day for $20 per person, and free activities such as face painting and balloon art can be had with those wristbands as well. Individual tickets will also be for sale for those of us who aren’t quite up to the centrifugal force factor. The rides will be up and running at 11 a.m. each day.
But there is more to the Boardwalk Carnival than just, well, the carnival. Live musical performances will go on throughout the day each day, and the beer tent on Pierce Lawn opens at noon.
How about free hula hoop lessons? Fire dancers? Stilt walkers, jugglers and circus shows? All of these activities, plus food vendors and carnival games are on the agenda this weekend.
Full carnival schedule is available on the Canalside event pages … but, don’t forget the other available activities at Canalside such as the Artisan Market, free lawn and table games, ferry service, kayak and waterbike rentals, and neighbors such as the Naval and Military Park.
All WNY is made possible thanks to coffee and sleep deprivation.
