A Niagara Falls man was charged today with grand larceny in connection with the robbery of Smokin’ Joes Smoke Shop in the Town of Lewiston that took place just over a year ago.

According to the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office, John M. Billings Jr, 32, was charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree assault, as well as second-degree grand larceny following the investigation into the May 20, 2015 robbery. During the course of that robbery, a victim was shot and sustained a non-life threating injury.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives assisted with the investigation.

Billings was arraigned in Cambria Town Court by Justice Jowdy, who set bail at $50,000 cash/$100,000 property.
