ALBION — A corrections worker at the Orleans Correctional Facility was charged Thursday with official misconduct by the Bureau of Criminal Investigation.

According to the New York State Police, Officer Andrea Benke had been purchasing clothing for an inmate, as well as purchasing prepaid phones to talk to the inmate during business hours.

Benke, who is reportedly suspended without pay, was issued an appearance ticket for the Town of Albion Court for May 17.
