BUFFALO — The respective leaders of the Republican and Democratic presidential primaries Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton — plan visits to the Queen City before New York’s primary on April 19. Republicans Ted Cruz and John Kasich are also eyeing Western New York.

Clinton, whose husband former President Bill Clinton campaigned on her behalf in Western New York on Tuesday, will appear at Roswell Park at noon Friday for a ‘Growing Jobs and Raising Incomes Roundtable.’ She will then head to the Buffalo Transportation Pierce Arrow Museum from 2 – 3 p.m.

Tickets can be obtained for the later event through Clinton’s website.

Trump, meanwhile, will appear at 7 p.m. April 17 — just two days before the state primary — at First Niagara Center. There may also be a Rochester visit in the coming week.

Trump, who holds a sizable lead in the GOP primary, has the support of 52 percent of New York Republicans, according to a Monmouth University poll released Wednesday. That poll said the Ohio Gov. John Kasich has 25 percent of the favor, while Sen. Ted Cruz comes in at 17 percent.

Noteworthy, the poll shows Western New York as Trump’s weakest area of the state with 47 percent of respondents offering their support.

Almost as soon as Trump’s FNC rally was confirmed, a “peaceful protest” was announced outside the Buffalo arena.

GOP contenders Cruz and Kasich are also planning Western New York visits, with Cruz believed to be headed to the area April 13 or 14, and Kasich coming Sunday morning for a town hall meeting at the Greece Community and Senior Center .
