New York State Police are investigating to determine the cause of this crash that killed a North Tonawanda man.

NIAGARA FALLS — New York State Police are investigating the cause of a one-car collision that occurred shortly before 7 p.m. Thursday on the LaSalle Expressway.

According to police 26-year-old Dean C. Anthony of North Tonawanda was fatally injured by a road sign when his 2001 Volkswagen left the roadway.

Anthony was traveling east bound on the LaSalle Expressway when he exited the roadway and struck the sign, which went through the driver’s side window, killing him. The two passengers in the vehicle were not injured.

The collision remains under investigation to determine the cause of the vehicle exiting the roadway.
