HONOLULU, O’AHU – The Purple and White fell to the Pacific Tigers 6-3 Friday afternoon in non-conference action from Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium in Honolulu.
 
Game Recap
• The Tigers started the contest with back-to-back doubles of Niagara starter Riley Crum to take a 1-0 lead over the Purple Eagles.
• Pacific would add three runs on four hits in the second to take a 4-0 lead over Niagara.
• Cara Leone would come into the contest for Niagara to start the third and Crum would move to first.
• Lindsay Mayo would double to left in the bottom of third to drive in Sophia Marrero from second and get a run back for the Purple and White.
• In the bottom of the fourth with runners on first and second, Bayliegh McCullough would single to right field which allowed Maggie Kellner, who started the inning with a bunt single, to score, cutting the Tiger lead in half, 4-2.
• After Pacific went back up by three runs, 5-2 in the top of the fifth, Samantha Hare would hit a sacrifice fly to drive in Madison LaPenta from third to put Niagara back down by two in the bottom half of the inning.
• After 3.0 innings of work Leone would be replaced by Julia Thompson in the circle to start the sixth inning.
• Pacific would hit a leadoff solo homerun in the sixth to give the game its 6-3 final.
 
Niagara Notes
• Niagara drops its first ever meeting with Pacific. The two teams will meet again on Sunday at 3 p.m. ET.
• The Purple and White got hits from Mayo, Kellner, McCullough and Marrero.
• Hare and Mayo recorded an RBI for the Purple Eagles and now have six and two on the season, respectively.
• Mayo recorded a double for the second-straight game and now has a team-best two on the season.
• Niagara left five runners on base, going 2-for-12 with runners on base.
• Thompson finished with a team-best two strikeouts in the circle.

• The Purple Eagles will play two games on Saturday, March 4, the first against Santa Clara (5 p.m. ET), followed by a contest with Utah (7 p.m. ET).
