HOW IT HAPPENED

  • A shot from the point by Morrisville defenseman Madison Tompkins snuck into the back of the net as Auge was shielded by a screen in front to give the Mustangs an early lead just over six minutes into the first period.
  • Mindzora netted the equalizer with a power-play goal less than one minute later.  Carys Ursell’s (Calgary, AB/Calgary Fire) shot went wide of the goal, caromed off the back wall right to Emma Ramseier (Oak Creek, WI/Milwaukee Jr. Admirals), who slid a pass across the crease to Mindzora for a tap-in goal at the back post.
  • Each team successfully killed a 5-3 opportunity in the second period, and a breakaway save from Auge kept the score tied into the second intermission.
  • Buffalo State took the lead 8:45 into the third period, as Willick ripped a wrist shot from in front of goal into the right corner of the net after a feed from Cruzal.
  • Morrisville took advantage of a Buffalo State defensive misplay, and Allie Davidson slid a shot past Auge on a breakaway to tie the score with 8:27 remaining in the third period.
  • Jackson scored the winner less than a minute later, as her shot from the right point took a deflection off a Morrisville defender and past the goalie.
  • The Bengals utilized a pair of Morrisville penalties in the final eight minutes to waste valuable time off the clock, and also killed a crucial penalty with under five minutes left.
