Mary Ann “Mona” Rutherford passed away on June 22, 2020 after a brief battle with cancer, surrounded by her family under Hospice care.

Mary Ann was born in 1951 to Theresa and  the late John Brandt Sr.  She was the eldest of her 8 siblings, John (Robin Wittcop) Brandt Jr., Susan (George) Hale, Nancy (Duane) Bartlett, Cynthia (John Otto) Webb, and the late Barbara (late Ralph) Sharrow, Jean (Tony) Dagonese, and James (Melissa) Brandt.

Mary Ann was married to Roy “Chip” Rutherford for 45 years and they raised 6 children together, Joseph (Nichole) Brandt, Penelope Salter, Teresa Alvine, Rhonda Rumschik, Renee (Vito) Andriacco & Roy “Moose” Rutherford III.  The family home was the hub of activity for her children and their friends while they were growing up. Consequently she was “mom” to more than just her children.

Mary Ann was blessed with 14 grandchildren Tuesday Goodband, Andrew Payne, Cody Brandt, Ukari Mulkey, Ryan Rutherford, Nickolas Brandt, Joseph Brandt Jr., Dakota Rumschik, Reese Rutherford, Peyton Brandt, Rylee Rutherford, Austin Rumschik, Jayden Rutherford and Elise Andriacco and 4 great grandchildren.   She was also Aunt, Sister in Law, Cousin and Friend to many more who loved her dearly.

Mary Ann was full of life with a big personality.  She was retired from Harrison Radiator and nothing filled her heart with more joy than spending time with her family, her “puppers” Rusty, Chico, K.C. and Fluffers, loud country music and a good laugh.

The family is planning a private service to celebrate her life.  In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Niagara Hospice. Arrangements are being handled by Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home.
