CANISIUS COLLEGE ATHLETICS

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Canisius head women’s soccer coach Todd Clark announced Wednesday that the Golden Griffins have officially added three new players for the 2019 season.

Alison Jurkowski • Defense • Lancaster HS • Lancaster, N.Y.
Awards: Team Captain; ECIC Honorable Mention; Two-time ECIC IV Second Team; All-Bee First team

Clark’s comments on Jurkowski: ” Ali is a strong addition to our defensive group with the ability to not only defend well in 1v1 situations but also to provide an attacking presence.  She is a fine athlete with both good size and technical ability that everyone is looking for in a strong defensive presence. She will undoubtedly be a player we will add into the mix on the Demske that will be appreciated by our fans as one of several members of a strong WNY Flash ’01 ECNL team coached by Rob Ferguson.”

Isabella Rennoldson • Center Midfield • Honeoye Falls-Lima HS • Honeoye Falls, N.Y.
Awards: All-League (four years); All-County (four years); Team Captain (2018); Monroe County Player of the Year 2018 (Division IV); High Honor Roll

Clark’s comments on Rennoldson: ” Izzy joins us as a fantastic addition that we look forward to working with primarily in the central midfield but possibly in an attacking role as well.  She is a tactically-aware player with sound technique but also adds grit and determination without compromise.  She is yet another of several WNY Flash ’01 players who have competed at the highest level on ECNL play as well as a well-honored high school experience that we are confident will make an impact in our side upon her arrival.”

Julia Schurr • Midfield• Orchard Park HS • Orchard Park, N.Y.
Awards: Two-time ECIC First Team; Two-time Team MVP; Team Captain; Scholar Athlete (2015-18); 2018 All-WNY First Team; 2018 All-Bee First Team

Clark’s comments on Schurr: ” Julia is one of several WNY Flash players we were fortunate enough to attract in the class of 2019. She is a player with a quality we are very excited to add to our team in that she can play both in midfield as well as at forward.  She has a calming influence in the midfield that will make an immediate impact as well as a young lady who can assist us in scoring needed goals in an attacking role.”
