UNIVERSITY AT BUFFALO ATHLETICS

Gleason again ran the UB offense to perfection this past weekend as the Bulls won two more matches, increasing their winning streak to five, all with Gleason at setter.  This past weekend she averaged 12.25 assists per set, led by her performance on Thursday night when she dished out 46 assists in a three-set match, averaging over 15.0 assists per set in that match.  Gleason added 52 more assists in Buffalo’s five-set win over Toledo on Saturday.  She also added three service aces and 13 digs during the weekend.
In all, the Bulls won player of the week honors 14 times this season, highlighted by five for sophomore Andrea Mitrovic, and four for Gleason.  Fellow setter Scout McLerran won the award three times and junior Kristina Nieves was named defensive player of the week twice.
The Bulls will now turn their attention to MAC Tournament play as they have received their highest seeding ever at four and then will have a first round bye.  The Bulls will play the winner of #5 Eastern Michigan and #8 Kent State on Friday at 4:30 pm in the MAC Quarterfinals.
