CANISIUS COLLEGE ATHLETICS

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Canisius women’s lacrosse head coach Allison Daley has been named associate head coach of the Canadian U-19 team that will compete in the 2019 FIL U-19 Women’s Field Lacrosse World Championships in Peterborough, Ontario, the Canadian Lacrosse Association announced.

“I am very grateful for this opportunity to coach and represent Canada at the U-19 World Championships,” Daley said. “I am excited to use this opportunity to learn and grow and be able to take that knowledge to continue to grow our Canisius program.”

The Peterborough, Ontario, native has extensive international experience as both a player and coach. In 2017, Daley was the goalkeeper of the Canadian senior team that won silver at the FIL Women’s Lacrosse World Cup in England and IWGA Games in Poland. She was also an assistant on the 2015 U-19 team that won gold.

The 2019 season will be Daley’s second at the helm of the Golden Griffins. In her first year, she led the Canisius to an 11-9 overall mark and 6-2 conference record, a share of the MAAC regular-season title and an appearance in the MAAC Championship game. Daley also coached four student-athletes that received All-MAAC honors, as well as the Midfielder of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year.

Former Canisius women’s lacrosse head coach Scott Teeter has been named the head coach of the U-19 team. Katie Ranger, Emily Boissonneault, Kaylin Morissette and Fred Jenner were named assistant coaches.
