BUFFALO, N.Y. — Senior libero Larra Bickelhaupt was all over the floor defensively for the Bulls this past weekend as they split a pair of five-set matches on the road at the top two teams in the MAC East. On Friday at Miami, Bickelhaupt had 25 digs, while also recording just one reception error on 44 attempts. Bickelhaupt also got involved offensively with six assists and a kill. On Saturday, Bickelhaupt helped lead UB to a five-set road win at Bowling Green as she notched 25 more digs in the victory over the Falcons. For the weekend, Bickelhaupt averaged 5.10 digs per set.
Redshirt Junior Caleb Covell was able to collect First Team All-MAC honors after claiming a fourth place finish in the men’s 8K race at the 2018 MAC Championships held in Toledo, OH. Covell led the way at the MAC Championships for Buffalo as he was once again the top finisher for the men’s team in the 8k event, crossing the line in third overall out of a very competitive field of 75 runners with a season-best time of 24:36.8, earning him his first career All-MAC honors.
