BUFFALO, N.Y. — Canisius senior Patrick Crowley has been named the Canisius Student-Athlete of the Week. Crowley, who holds a 3.94 grade point average as a physics major.

The Getzville, N.Y., native finished the Canisius Alumni Classic in 17th place with a time of 26:25 to help boost the Golden Griffins to a second place finish.
 
The Canisius athletic department has a strong tradition of success in the classroom, with 19 varsity programs recording a grade point average of 3.0 or better in the 2017-18 spring semester. Fifteen teams recorded a team GPA of 3.25 or higher, and the school’s 342 student-athletes combined to post a department grade point average of 3.26 in the spring session.

Additionally, last spring saw 22 student-athletes earn a perfect 4.0 grade point average for the semester. Those 22 student-athletes represent nine different teams. A total of 243 student-athletes hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, which breaks down to 71 percent of the College’s student-athlete population.

The Blue and Gold continue their season at the MAAC Championships in Loudonville, N.Y. on Oct. 27.
