NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — Men’s and women’s head swimming & diving coach Ben Nigro has announced the hiring of Josh Larcom as the teams’ new diving coach.
“We are excited to bring Josh in as our new diving coach,” said Nigro. “His excitement and enthusiasm were exactly what we were looking for in a candidate.”
Larcom most recently worked as a swim instructor at the Michael Phelps Swim School in Buffalo, N.Y., where he have swim lessons to children ages three through 13. He also worked as a lifeguard at the University at Buffalo and he is CPR, AED, first-aid and lifeguard certified.
Larcom competed as a diver at Canisius from 2014-18 and was an NCAA Zone qualified during the 2017-18 season.
While in college, Larcom worked for Canisius College Admissions as a tour guide and was a kinesiology tutor in the Canisius College Griff Center.
“It is an honor to be selected as the new diving coach at Niagara University,” said Larcom. “I am very excited and grateful for that opportunity that Ben has given me. I am looking forward to a fantastic season with the Purple Eagles.”
Larcom graduated from Canisius in May 2018 with bachelor’s degrees in both health and wellness and psychology and with a minor in strength and conditioning.
