BUFFALO, N.Y. — Buffalo State director of athletics Jerry Boyes announced the promotion of Nicole Mehlman-Davidow to interim head cross country and track and field coach for the 2018-19 seasons effective Sept. 5, replacing Ray Shadowens who has accepted an assistant coaching position at Division II University of Alaska Anchorage.

Mehlman-Davidow is in her fourth season with the Bengals staff, serving as an assistant cross country and track and field coach for the previous three seasons.  Prior to coming to Buffalo State, she worked with the cross country program at Hilbert College for two seasons and also helped coach track and field at Kenmore East High School.  She has served as a guest speaker at cross country camps at Piedmont College.

Mehlman-Davidow was a four-year runner and team captain at Division I Niagara University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in communication studies with a minor in sport management.  She completed her master’s from Buffalo State in higher education and student affairs administration, and possesses a USTFCCCA Level 1 Certification.
