BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Canisius cross country teams are set to compete in the 50th installment of the Little Three Championship this Saturday. This year’s event will be held on the campus of St. Bonaventure University in Olean, N.Y.
 
Little Three Championship History
• Senior Siobhan Quinn enters this year’s race with three Little Three individual titles under her belt. She finished this race in a career-best 17:35 in 2017.
• The Canisius women have recorded a first-place finish each of the last four seasons, and 11 of the previous 12-years.
• The men have won the last 12 Little Three Championships and a total of 32 overall.
• Junior Nick Neamtu will lead the charge for the Golden Griffins as he finished third at last year’s Little Three, crossing the line in 15:53.4. The junior has never finished outside the top-10 in this race.
• At the 49th running of the Little Three, in Lewiston, N.Y. the women posted eight of the top-10 finishers, while the men had nine.
 
Scouting the Competition
• St. Bonaventure will host the event for the first time since 2015 where the Bonaventure women placed second, and men third.
• In 2017, the Bonnies recorded second-place finishes in the men’s and women’s 5K backed by Emily Izydorczak and William Delaney who placed third and 11th respectively.
• The Purple Eagles return a total of nine runners from 2017.
• Junior Ryan DeLola and sophomore Emily Webster both recorded top-10 finishes for the Purple Eagles in this race last year.

• Canisius continues their season on Sept. 14 at the National Catholic Championship in South Bend, Ind. while select members of the team will take part in the University at Buffalo Stampede.
