The Niagara volleyball team heads to Connecticut for matches against co-MAAC leaders Fairfield on Saturday and Quinnipiac on Sunday.

The Purple Eagles, 3-0 at home this season, are coming off of two home conference wins versus the Rider Broncs 3-1 and the Saint Peter’s Peacocks 3-0. Junior Madison May set a new career-high with 19 kills against Rider, and also added 16 kills in the win versus Saint Peter’s. Meghan Higley set a new career-high 22 assists, as well as season-high six digs in the four set match against Rider. In their match against Rider, Alexis Gray posted her seventh double-double of the season, with 26 assists and 10 digs. Gray also tacked on one ace in their match against Saint Peter’s, making her tied for fifth all-time in service aces (114) for the Purple Eagles. Libero Rylee Hunt has had 14 consecutive matches with double-digit digs.

The Purple Eagles have continued to move up the ranks, and are now tied for 19th in the nation in service aces (97), with Alexis Gray tied for 24th in the NCAA with 25 aces. Rylee Hunt is 22 digs away from tying Kelly Cruttenden (’97) for fourth all-time (1,401) for Niagara.

Niagara is 10-30 all-time against Fairfield and split two meetings with the Stags last season.
