The University at Buffalo women’s tennis team won championships at all four singles flights on Sunday morning to cap off a successful UB Invitational for the Bulls.

In three of the four singles flights, the finals were All-UB affairs beginning with the “A” Flight where sophomore Chantal Martinez Blanco defeated junior Tanja Stojanovska, 6-2, 6-2.  In the “B” Flight, sophomore Mercedes Losada Rubio defeated Vanessa Madrigal from Wright State, 6-3, 6-1.

In the “C” Flight, freshman Emel Abibula defeated sophomore teammate Sanjana Sudhir, 6-2, 6-2 and in the “D” Flight, sophomore Hayley Hollins defeated senior Laura Holterbosch, 6-2, 6-2.

“I am very pleased with how the girls competed all weekend,” said head coach Kristen Maines.  “Overall, they played confident and composed tennis and it showed by sweeping all of the singles flights.”
