POTSDAM — Buffalo State dropped the opening match of the Potsdam Victory Promotions Invitational in straight sets to SUNY Canton, before being swept in an exhibition match against Cegep Andre Laurendeau of the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association.

Buffalo State was unable to overcome 17 hitting errors in the first match, posting a .125 hitting percentage, compared to a .316 percentage by SUNY Canton. Lauren Hansen (Blue Point/Bayport Blue Point) led Buffalo State with 10 kills and just two errors, and Riley Chapman (Orchard Park/Orchard Park) added nine kills and three aces. Hansen also had a team-best nine digs.
Meg Brandon (Flint, MI/Grand Blanc) finished with 18 assists.

In the second match, Hansen paced Buffalo State with seven kills, while Victoria Rigler (Amherst/Sweet Home) registered seven digs.
                                                                                           
Buffalo State will wrap up the tournament tomorrow at St. Lawrence against the host Saints and will close the tourney against Kean University.
