On December 30, 2021, SP Amity Troopers arrested Michael J Dixon, 49 of Angelica for Driving While Intoxicated.
SP Amity Troopers investigating an unrelated complaint on County Road 21 in the Town of Andover and observed Dixon operating a motor vehicle on the public roadway. He then parked in a private driveway. During the interview of Dixon, the odor of alcohol was detected. Troopers also observed bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, and impaired motor coordination. Dixon admitted to consuming alcoholic beverages prior to operating the vehicle. Troopers conducted a battery of standardized field sobriety tests which indicated that Dixon was intoxicated. A preliminary breath test also indicated the presence of alcohol. Troopers arrested Dixon and transported him to SP Amity for processing where he provided a breath sample with a reportable value of .14 blood alcohol concentration.
Dixon was issued appearance tickets returnable to the town of Andover court, where he is to appear in January 2022.
