GREGORY ALTON GOODRUM affectionately known as “Greg,” was born on January 12, 1950 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Charlie Goodrum and Myrtice Goodrum-Darden. He was one of nine siblings.

In the 1950’s, the family relocated to Buffalo, New York, where Greg received his education in Buffalo Public Schools. Greg was very gifted with his hands. At an early age, he learned artistry skills, making purses and leather wallets, which he sold often. In 1971, Greg embarked on a military career and joined the United States Army, where he actively served until his honorable discharge in 1974. In 1972, he met and married the former Yvonne Hillary, and to this union was born one beautiful daughter, and a bonus daughter.

A man of faith and a true servant of God’s heart, Greg joined the United House of Prayer for All People in 1989. He married the former Donnie Hayes and this union was blessed with two beautiful daughters and two bonus children.

Greg truly loved listening to old school music, dancing, and taking walks in the park, especially with his grandchildren. His children and grandchildren meant the world to him, and fond memories of him braiding the girls hair when they were little will be forever cherished. He loved life and lived it to his fullest extent.

On June 7, 2021, our beloved Gregory Alton Goodrum was called into eternal rest.

The memories of Greg’s life are cherished in the hearts of his loving daughters, Candice Goodrum and Carol Goodrum; two bonus daughters, Nicole Donaldson and Tamika Stroud; one bonus son, Terrance Moses; 11 grandchildren, Kylie, Terriona, Cardell Jr., Jasnique, Ja’nielle, Jaelaya, DaRon, DaVine, DaVon, Justis, and Dayvonna; two sisters, Dorothy Higgans and Marian Davis; one brother, Raymond Goodrum, Sr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
