Former Canisius men’s lacrosse player Tim Edwards ’15 helped the Boston Cannons win the 2020 Major League Lacrosse (MLL) Championship Sunday afternoon at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, Md.
 
Boston beat the top-seeded Denver Outlaws, 13-10, in the title game. Edwards played in all six games for the Cannons as a midfielder, where he was credited with one assist, a ground ball and a caused turnover during the MLL’s tournament.
 
The Jamesville, N.Y., native played four seasons in Blue and Gold from 2012-15, and he currently serves as a volunteer assistant on head coach Mark Miyashita‘s staff. A four-time All-MAAC selection, he finished his career as a Golden Griffin with 145 career points, while ranking fourth with 80 career assists and third in school history with a .558 faceoff percentage. The 2012 MAAC Rookie of the Year, Edwards scored the game-winning for the Griffs in the 2012 MAAC Championship game, helping lead Canisius to it second of three NCAA Tournament appearances in school history.
