Kathleen L. “Kathy” Quaranta, 77, of Youngstown, NY, passed away on July 1, 2020, at Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Anne (Aubert) Saad.
Kathy graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1960 and earned an Associate’s Degree in Business & Commerce from Niagara University. On October 12, 1968, she married Francis (Frank) S. Quaranta, Jr., a United States Air Force Veteran, in Niagara Falls, NY, initiating a lifetime of adventure together. Mr. Quaranta predeceased her on February 12, 2016.
Kathy was employed for 31 years at Carbide Graphite, where she worked as a Human Resource Specialist, prior to her retirement in 1993.
Kathy is survived by her brother, John Saad, Jr., nephews John Saad and Michael Saad, as well as several cousins.
There will be no prior visitation. Private funeral services and interment in Sampson Veteran’s Cemetery, Romulus, NY, next to her husband of 48 years, will be held for family and close friends. If desired, memorial offerings may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, Florida 33607.
