Anthony Sgroi, 77, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully at his residence on July 1, 2020 surrounded by his loving family and under the care of Niagara Hospice.  Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Rose (DeMarco) Sgroi, and grandson of the late Anthony (Alice) DeMarco and Michael (Vincenzia) Sgroi.

Anthony attended Niagara-Wheatfield High School and served in the United States Army until his honorable discharge in 1965.  On October 16, 1965, he married Mary (Schinabeck) Sgroi.  Anthony was employed for 40 years as a chemical engineer for Oxy Chemical in Niagara Falls, NY.  He enjoyed fishing, sports, and playing cards.  Above all, he will be remembered as family man who loved spending time with those he treasured.

In addition to his wife of 54 years, Anthony is survived by his children, Susan Sgroi, Anthony (Tina) Sgroi, and Patrick (fiancé Rachel Scozzafava) Sgroi; his grandchildren, Jennifer (Don) Hoyt, Anthony (Trisha) Guthrie, Ashley (Matt) Rivera, Sam (fiancé Nicole Suwalski), Alyssa Sgroi and Ella Sgroi; 5 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy (late Sam) Gatto and Vincenette (Bill) Vivian, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
