The Canisius golf team ended its participation in the Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate at the Kaluhyat Course in Verona, N.Y., in 13th place as a team. The Golden Griffins posted a team score of 312 in the final round to record team score of 943.
 
Canisius junior Matt Genaway was the top individual performer for the Griffs, as he tied for 41st in the field with his three-round total of 230. Senior David Hanes finished in 60th place after he recorded 79 in three-straight rounds, while fellow senior Jaret Chipman tied for 82nd in the field after he carded a one-over-par score of 73 on Monday.

No. 23 ranked North Carolina won the team title with a combined score of 822, which was 42-under par. On Monday, four of the five Tar Heels in the field shot under par, led by Ryan Burnett, who fired an eight-under 64 to win individual medalist honors.

Canisius will return to the course Sept. 10, when the team takes part in the Little Three Championship, which will be hosted by St. Bonaventure at Bartlett Country Club in Olean, N.Y.
