The Red Wings hit pair of late-inning homers in a 7-6 come-from-behind win over the Buffalo Bisons Thursday night in their final road game of the season.
Unfortunately, Rochester (68-68) had already been eliminated from playoff contention prior to the win.
After a Socrates Brito three-run homer broke a 2-2 tie in the fifth inning, Willians Astudillo tied things back up with a two-out, three-run homer in the seventh inning.
Buffalo answered right back in the bottom of the seventh as Michael De La Cruz sliced a solo homer to put the Bisons back in front, 6-5.
But back came the Wings. After a leadoff single from Alejandro De AzaZander Wiel clobbered a two-run homer to left in the eighth inning to give the Wings the 7-6 lead.
Fernando Romero shut the door, tossing two scoreless innings with two strikeouts, to preserve the win and earn the save.
Tomas Telis and De Aza each recorded three hit nights for the Wings.
The Wings head home to open the final series of the season at Frontier Field – a four-game set against Syracuse.
