Philip Chamot passed away August 3, 2019 in Northgate Health Care Facility in Wheatfield.  Born April 5, 1941 in Buffalo he was the son of Dale and Florence (Cotter) Chamot.  Philip was a New York State Trooper for 22 years retiring in 1984 as Captain.  He was also the Assistant Director of Training NYS Trooper.  Philip earned his law degree from the University at Buffalo and was a local attorney, working at Hogan, Jones & Brooks for nine years and at Pope Law Firm for sixteen years retiring from law in 2013.  He was a member of St. John the Baptist RC Church, Knight of Columbus #319 and Assembly #754, and also the Retired State Troopers Association.

Philip is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen (Fromm) Chamot; children Mary (Robert) Mulrain, Stephen (Renee) Chamot, Patrice (David) Loomis, Elizabeth (Ronald) Hammond, and Emily (Taylor) Matthews; fifteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren; brothers Duane (Ann) Chamot and late Dale James (Carmella) Chamot; also several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call Monday, August 12th from 4-8 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport.  A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, August 13th at 10 AM in St. John the Baptist RC Church, 168 Chestnut St., Lockport.  Inurnment will be in Mt.
