From The Branches Of Tide : https://www.facebook.com/ftbot716 Progressive Nü Metalcore is a fusion of progressive metal and metalcore characterized by highly technical lead guitar, “atmospheric” elements, and complex instrumentation. Singing may be included, but death growls are more prevalent. The genre is also reliant on the incorporation of “atmospheric sections,” ambient instrumentation and repetitive melodies & often feature intense breakdowns with heavily distorted palm-muted riffs. Frank Pascarella lives for perfecting this. Accompanied by Jordan DeHonney, Aaron Sutton, Alan Schrutt, & Josh Rogacki, they have made Buffalo, NY’s From the Branches of Tide a force to be reckoned with in a very short amount of time. Lost Like Lions : https://www.facebook.com/LostLikeLionsMusic Lost Like Lions formed from the ashes of a past local band called “This is Fiction” who performed at Thursday at the Harbor, sold out Mohawk Place, and even headlined The Town Ballroom. Several months later, in April this five-piece alternative rock band performed for the first time, under the new name: “Beaches of Europa”. Amateur Hockey Club : https://www.facebook.com/amateurhockeyclub Ever read something that changed your life? Amateur Hockey Club claims “This story won’t be it. But, sometimes the greatest revelations can come from something as silly as a Laffy Taffy wrapper, or the back of a Molson Canadian bottle.” Matt Foote, Brennan Carey, Nate Beyer, & Mitch Lariviere write songs about love, loneliness, faith, doubt, hopes and disappointments. They also strum guitars with strings, bang drums with sticks, and throw rocks at trains and it seems to be working for them so far. This mismatch comes out of Fredonia, NY from a couple of music students wanted to make a lot of noise. The groovy good time is a combination of Brendan Ryan, Dillon Slater, Jade Hoch, & Tyler Will. Together they jam an alternative rockin sound, that rings familiar to modern music fans but with a twist all their own. Good guys, good times, pop on down for a good Cheap Peach! Maxwell Doldan : https://www.facebook.com/Maxwelldoldan In music, there are sections of songs or compositions that give the audience a sense that they are journeying with the composer. Sometimes they’re found early on in the piece, inviting the listener to experience from beginning to end the revelation being conveyed. Other times, the author waits until the closing remarks in a song to bring the listener alongside them. For Maxwell Doldan, the journey begins from the first note. The simple utterance of sound leads him out of his fears, his doubts, his worries; He is free in that moment to be real and unrestricted. He wanted to facilitate that experience in others. This is a starting point for him to see that dream manifest. Insoluble : https://www.facebook.com/insolubleband/ The brand spakin’ new Buffalo-based Prog Rock band Insoluble brings together three veteran players. Think Rush meets Primus meets King Crimson meets some Blues & Jazz. Matthew Ruhl (formerly of With Distance Come Distraction), Kevin Flynn (of Spacelord), & Joseph Sikorski (formerly of Lunar Eyes) make music that blends every genre with a helpful dose of meth. Don’t miss these guys, as they’ll be making a scene in town throughout the upcoming year!
