Happy New Year. Let’s forget resolutions or any other New Year’s promise we make that no one keeps; instead lets try some more new recipes.

I don’t know about you, but I love cookbooks, weather it’s the recipe in there or the picture, or how they came up with the recipe and what it means to the family.

This year for Christmas I got four brand new cookbooks, they were all Rae Drummond, the Pioneer Women, and I have already read two of them cover to cover. Her sense of humor really shines through, and the love for her home and family.

So instead of sharing a recipe with you this week I am going to share this: take a chance and try something new, read a cookbook, check out a cooking website, and ask some questions. I have several years of cooking experience but realize that I can always learn something new or try something a different way. Please don’t be afraid or nervous, there are no failures only leaning lessons, if it didn’t work you just learned a new way not to do. Our biggest mistake is being afraid to make a mistake, so this year make that your goal, get out there and try something new and different, be it cooking, crafting, a new sport, anything just try it, you might surprise yourself.

Everyone have a safe and happy new year and get ready to try some comfort food classics, and some fusion cooking in this coming year. God bless you all and Happy New Year.
