The featured show of this week is SMUG Album Release Show. SMUG – “A musical powder keg three parts power pop, indie rock, and pop punk, detonated by wild abandon, SMUG’s high-octane guitar solos, jubilant hooks, and slacker anthems inspire much headbanging, high-kicking, and windmilling. Who says rock is dead?” – Zach M Anderson Buffalo, NY’s own SMUG have become tight due to their past east coast touring. Craig Perno, Travis Perno, & Zach Russell blend effortlessly into pure rock ‘n roll. Not in the classic sense, but with a modern edge soaked through ripped jeans. They have recently put together an arsenal of unforgettable songs that show they’re not just another flash in the pan. Swing into Nietzsche’s this Friday, November 16th to get a dose from Yace Booking. An $8 cover gets you in and also gets you a copy of their new record ‘Gorgeous’ (released through Admirable Traits Records). Buffalo Sex Change (Rochester two-piece rockabilly minimalists), Cooler (Grunge-y 2002 era emo), and Kill The Clock (Pop punkers originating from the Fredonia scene) start things off just after doors open at 9:00pm.
