UNIVERSITY AT BUFFALO ATHLETICS

BUFFALO, N.Y. — University at Buffalo softball commit Zoe Hicks earned a spot on the National Junior College Athletic Association Division I Softball All-America First Team, as announced on Wednesday morning.
Hicks, a sophomore at Iowa Western, earned a spot on the team as a utility player as she also racked up Second Team All-America honors by Fastpitch News and Third Team All-America honors by National Fastpitch Coaches Association earlier this month.
Hicks put together a huge sophomore campaign for the Reivers that resulted in being named First Team All-America, the first Iowa Western player to earn that recognition since 2016. The Boissevain, Manitoba, Canada native had a huge season at the plate as she led the team with a .488 batting average, seven home runs, 24 doubles, 71 RBI, 66 runs and 24 walks. In the circle, Hicks was lights out for the Reivers as she posted a 16-5 record with a 2.69 ERA while striking out 130 batters and notching 12 complete games.
The powerful righty will join the Bulls for the 2019 season and will immediately step in and help the UB rotation and lineup.
