It’s episode 2 of the Struggle Is Real Buffalo Music Podcast, hosted by local musicians Ryan Gurnett and Dennis Reed Jr.

In this episode we sit down to talk with guitarist John Swayze from local punk purveyors GOVERNESS, and play the title track from their debut album, “Let Me Be Your Governess.”

In Governess’s punk rock spirit, we debate the wisdom of bands “burning bridges” with promoters and bars. We also offer a new edition of our gameshow, “Real or Not Real,” the “How to Lose Gigs and Alienate Venues” edition, wherein Dennis reads inflammatory and libelous statements about local venues and promoters and asks Ryan to guess whether or not he actually wrote them on his previous band’s website, middlemania.com. Stay tuned to the very end for a bonus drummer joke!

The Struggle Is Real Buffalo Music Podcast presents the good, the bad and the funny of being a DIY musician in the 716. We interview local musicians about their crazy and salient experiences, and play their music. Message us if you’re a local musician and you want us to play your music on the air and consider you for an interview!
