ALBANY — In a highly-expected move usually seen more as a formality than anything, New York’s 29 Electors cast their votes unanimously this afternoon for Democratic Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton, who easily won the state on Nov. 8.

Among those voting for Clinton were her husband, former President Bill Clinton; Gov. Andrew Cuomo; Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul; Attorney General Eric Schneiderman; Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown; and Lovely Warren, mayor of Rochester.

As of the publishing of this story, 25 states have voted and there have been zero defectors or “faithless electors” in any of the states.

UPDATE (3:53 p.m.): Four Democratic voters in the state of Washington chose not to vote for Hillary Clinton, becoming “faithless” voters. Three voted for former Secretary of State Colin Powell, one for Native American environmental activist Faith Spotted Eagle. Clinton took the other eight votes in the state. Three other Democratic electors have also tried to be “faithless” by not voting for Clinton. One in Maine, one in Minnesota and one in Colorado. Those votes were all eventually changed and registered for Clinton.
