Linda “Candy” Ellerington Spina of Niagara Falls, NY entered into eternal peace on November 10, 2016. She will be greeted into heaven by her parents William G. Ellerington and Edith M. Ellerington; siblings Thomas Ellerington, William Ellerington, Pauline (James) Cattarin, Gloria Carbin, Lois (Robert) Smiedala, Charles “Ricky”(Maryann) Ellerington and nephew Michael McNamara.
Linda retired from Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital where she served as a dedicated nurse and proud union representative. She cared deeply and fought for her patients and co-workers. She lived a fulfilled life and enjoyed travel, theater, the arts, bingo and her cats.
She is survived by her sons Arthur Spina, III, Anthony Spina, Aaron Spina; grandson Arthur Spina, IV (Anna) and niece Candace (Bill) LaRue; brothers William (Sandra) McNamara, James (Patricia) Ellerington and family Tracey (Wes) Parsons and Joel (Tammy) Ellerington; brother-in-law James Cattarin; sister-in-law Maryann Ellerington; granddaughters Melinda McNamara (Kevin); Miranda (Michael) Kraus; grandsons Michael McNamara and Billy LaRue; nieces Kimberly Ellerington, Cheree (Gary) Irving and family; nephews Eric “Ricky” Ellerington and Gene Tribbets; “Nan” to Aiden, Mikayla and Payton; also survived by friends and family.
Her family will be present from 4-6 PM on Tuesday, November 22, at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 901 Cayuga St., LEWISTON, NY, where a memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM, with Rev. Ivan Skenderovic officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice at Jeanne’s House, Niagara Hospice and the SPCA of Niagara County.
