BUFFALO — The defending Mid-American Conference tournament champion University at Buffalo women’s basketball team led by fifth-year head coach Felisha Legette-Jack announced their 2016-17 schedule on Tuesday morning. The Bulls schedule is highlighted by 16 home games at Alumni Arena, two more than a season ago.

Fans will get their first chance to see the Bulls in action on Nov. 4 as they play host to Bloomsburg in an exhibition match at 6 p.m. at Alumni Arena.

The Bulls will open up their 2016-17 regular season campaign with three straight home non-conference matches, starting with UMass at 7 p.m. Nov. 11. The 2016 MAC Champions will unveil their championship banner prior to the game against the Minutewomen. The Bulls will then play host to a pair of Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference members in Niagara and Manhattan. UB will take on Niagara at 7 p.m. Nov. 16 and Manhattan at 7 p.m. Nov. 19. Buffalo defeated Niagara on the road last season by the score of 57-48.

The Bulls will then hit the road for their first contest away from home on Nov. 22 as they try to avenge a 79-62 loss to the Duquesne Dukes from a season ago at 1 p.m. Duquesne advanced to the NCAA Tournament a season ago, losing in the second round to eventual National Champion UConn. UB will then return to Alumni Arena for three straight non-conference games as they play host to Sacred Heart at 7 p.m. Nov. 26, Central Florida at 7 p.m. Dec. 1, and WNIT quarterfinalists Hofstra at noon on Dec. 4.

The Bulls will wrap up their non-conference slate with three of four on the road as they head to Big 4 foe Canisius at 7 p.m. Dec. 8. UB will then host Big 4 rival St. Bonaventure at Alumni Arena at noon on Dec. 21 before heading to New York City for the Fordham University Tournament. The Bulls will play a pair of games at the Fordham Tournament, their first on Dec. 29 and the second on Dec. 30. Opponents and game times are not set.

MAC play opens up on Dec. 31 for the Bulls as they will welcome Miami (OH) to Buffalo. As January hits, the Bulls will be on the road for four out of five MAC matches as they travel to Ohio on Jan. 4 and Central Michigan for a rematch of the MAC Championship game from a season ago on Jan. 7. After hosting Toledo on Jan. 11, the Bulls will be on the road against Miami (OH) on Jan. 14 and Bowling Green on Jan. 18.

Buffalo will close out January with two of three matches at the friendly confines of Alumni Arena as they host Central Michigan on Jan. 21 and Ball State on Jan. 25 before hitting the road against Western Michigan Jan. 28.

After opening February on the road at Toledo on Feb. 1, Buffalo will host five of their next six games at Alumni Arena starting with Kent State on Feb. 4. After a bye week, the Bulls will host Northern Illinois on Feb. 11 before heading to Ypsilanti, Mich. to take on Eastern Michigan on Feb. 15. UB will then host Akron on Feb. 18, Ohio on Feb. 22 and Bowling Green on Feb. 25.

The Bulls will wrap up their regular season slate with a pair of road games against Akron on March 1 and Kent State on March 4.

The 2017 Mid-American Conference Tournament will again be held at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland from March 8-11.  Frist round games will take place on campus sites on March 6.
