Niagara County libraries got a boost today in the form of $62.500 in state aid.

The funds, secured by State Sen. Rob Ortt as part of this year’s budget, will be used to assist with educational services and programming, purchasing materials, renovations, operations, or events that serve the community.

The amount of Senate grant money to the county libraries is as follows:

  • Lewiston Public Library – $20,000 
  • Niagara Falls Public Library – $20,000 
  • North Tonawanda Public Library – $7,500 
  • Ransomville Free Library – $5,000 
  • Sanborn-Pekin Free Library – $5,000 
  • Youngstown Free Library – $5,000 

The area library directors came together at the Lewiston Public Library for a ceremonial check presentation.
