GRAND ISLAND — New York State Police are investigating a two-car head-on collision on Stony Point Road that took the life of a Grand Island man this evening.
According to police accounts, Jeremy T. Wallens, 36, was traveling north on Stony Point Road in a 2009 Dodge Avenger around 6:50 p.m. when he crossed the center line, striking a 2011 Ford Ranger driven by a 23-year-old Grand Island woman.
Wallens was not wearing a seatbelt, which Troopers say resulted in his death. A female passenger in his vehicle was also injured in the crash.
NYSP says alcohol is a possible factor in the collision.
