BUFFALO — Canisius Volleyball senior outside hitter Katlyn Tyler has been named to the 2016 Preseason All-MAAC Team, the conference office announced Wednesday. Tyler, a native of Pavilion, New York, closed out her junior campaign in 2015 by being named All-MAAC First Team.

Tyler led the Blue and Gold’s offensive attack last season with her 3.77 kills per set. She also paced the team in kills (403), total attacks (1,139) and she boasted an attack percentage of .187.

Tyler ranked second in the MAAC in kills per set and points per set with her 4.06 mark.

Joining Tyler on the Preseason All-MAAC Team is Skyler Day and Megan O’Sullivan of Fairfield, Rylee Hunt of Niagara, Kaitlyn Griffin from Rider and Briana Flagg and Hayley Howell from Siena. Day was also honored as the 2016 MAAC Preseason Player of the Year.

Along with the release of the Preseason All-MAAC Team, the MAAC office also announced the 2016 coaches’ poll. Canisius was picked seventh in the poll, which is voted on by the league’s head coaches. Defending MAAC champion Fairfield was picked to repeat as conference champions, while Siena and Marist were selected to round out the top-three in the 10-team poll.
