Oliver E. Dupont, Jr. of Lockport entered into rest peacefully July 30, 2016. He was born on July 30, 1937 in Lockport, NY. He was the son of late Oliver E. and Benadine (Wilkins) DuPont, Sr. Oliver worked previously at the Lockport Post Office where he worked both the city and rural routes. He also worked for the Bulletin of the Week. Ollie was a great outdoors man who enjoyed fishing, boating, and hunting with his family and friends. He also enjoyed bike riding, roller and ice skating, playing croquet with his grandchildren. He had a true love for Lockport history and his dog Annie. Oliver was a member of the Dale Association and former member of the Middleport Rod & Gun Club. He was a graduate of DeSales Catholic High School Class of 1956.

Beloved husband of devoted wife Jane (Galarneau) DuPont. Devoted & loving brother to Sister Annette DuPont SSMN and brother-in-laws, John Galarneau, Peter (Lynn) Galarneau. Oliver was a loving father to Sheryl (Mark) Felice, Mark (Debbie) DuPont, Susie (Randy) Parker, Patricia (Clark) Bryant, Barbara (Rick McGaffin) Parker.

He was also known as “Jolly Ollie” or “Big D” by his children and grandchildren. Grandfather to Nicole (Anthony) Bilzi, Renee (Douglas) Dupell, Noelle (Joe Corica) DuPont, Nicholas (Allison) DuPont, Bryan (Dawn Blessman) Parker, Jillian (Joe) Mangiafesto, Marissa Parker, Tressa and Anna Bryant, Zachary and Samuel Parker. Great grandfather to six children. Oliver touched the lives of many dear friends and family and will be sadly missed.

Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday August 2nd from 2-4 and 6-8PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home 242 Genesee St. Lockport, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday August 3rd at 10AM in All Saints R. C. Parish 76 Church St. Lockport. Entombment will be in Glenwood Masoleum. In lieu of flowers a memorial contributions may be made to Sisters of Saint Mary of Namur 241 Lafayette Ave. Buffalo, NY 14213 would be appreciated by the family.
