BUFFALO — A 45-year-old Niagara Falls man has been sentenced to four months of weekends in jail and five years probation in relation to a series of unfulfilled home improvement scams.

According to Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Flaherty, Jr., Joseph Lloyd took money from three different victims for home improvement projects but never did the work.

Court records state that between July 21, 2014 and Oct. 14, 2015, the defendant engaged in a scheme that defrauded the victims of a total of $17, 900.

In February, Lloyd pleaded guilty to third-degree grand larceny and first-degree scheming to defraud.

Lloyd has been ordered the defendant to make restitution to all three victims.
